Fifty years ago, Seiko transformed watchmaking with the first commercially available quartz watch, the Astron. Today's Astron GPS Solar represents another step forward, reflecting the strong, sleek lines of the 1969 original, in light and durable titanium, while providing the highest degree of accuracy possible in a wristwatch — effortlessly. Available only in a single run of 1,000, with serial numbers engraved on each caseback, this extraordinary Limited Edition unites two signature contemporary visions, the continuing technological advances of Astron and the creativity of Kojima Productions, which transformed the gaming experience with its world-acclaimed Death Stranding, named "PC Game of the Year" at the 2020 Golden Joystick Awards. Infused with the spirit of Ludens, the game's icon, the design incorporates such elements as an interwoven pattern on the black dial reflecting the texture of his carbon face mask. Gold accents echo the metallic elements of his suit, while the interlocking subdials suggest the suit hinges and the cut-outs in the hour and minute hands mirror the flag spear motif. The Kojima Productions logo appears at both at the 9 o'clock position and on the caseback. On the bezel, the UTC city names are rendered in the font used by the studio, and its motto, "From Sapiens to Ludens" is engraved on the side of the bezel. GPS controlled for high-speed time and time zone adjustment to 39 time zones, this remarkable timepiece includes a daylight saving time function, perpetual day and date calendar correct to the year 2100, dual time with time transfer function, and am/pm indicators.
