Official description

In 2012, Seiko took electronic watchmaking to a new level with the Astron GPS Solar, which connects to the Global Positioning System (GPS) and adjusts to every time zone while generating all the energy it needs from light alone. Almost exactly a year ago, the new Caliber 5X83 was introduced, combining Dual-Time technology with a chronograph function for the first time. The Caliber 5X83 automatically connects up to twice per day to the GPS network. Manual connections are made possible with the simple push of a button, allowing the movement to maintain its precision anywhere in the world.

Today, four new GPS Solar Dual-Time Chronographs, each featuring a titanium bezel with a sapphire crystal insert, are introduced into the Seiko Astron collection.
